ABOUT THE CLUB

On 15th November trustees from the Boroughbridge British Legion Club purchased a plot of land and buildings  on the side of the River Tutt.  This had previously been the site of a methodist chapel/Public Hall which was destroyed by fire.

The Boroughbridge British Legion Club continued to run from the site until 1972 when it became a working men’s club  (CIU affiliated)  and was renamed as Boroughbridge Social Club.

The “Club” continues to retain strong links with the local branch of the British Legion raising money for the Poppy Day appeal and providing refreshments following the Remembrance Sunday parade, held in nearby Hall Square.

The Club currently has 500 members and is at the heart of the Boroughbridge local community.  The Club will be celebrating its 100th year anniversary on 15th November 2026 and festivities are already being planned!
